I read somewhere about these characteristics of unusually good people:
*They care about those that need help
*They commit themselves to national service and a lifetime of civic engagement
*They care about the health and well-being of neighbors and strangers alike
*They care about the legal rights of everyone, especially those without advocates
*They care about the working poor, who struggle to make their way and to *preserve their families in an economy of bewildering change
*They care about children, who seem to need all of us in order to fulfill their potential
It’s basic Christian living...
James Freedman called these characteristics of “the idealist.” I would call them characteristics of God’s people. Every one of these characteristics are drawn from the principles found in the Bible.
It’s basic Christian living — loving your brother as yourself.
