Boss: (Agitated) I'm sorry, Jim. Friday's too late. It has to be done by tomorrow.
Jim: (Shocked) But that will take...all night!
Boss: (Coldly) That's your problem. Now get at it!
Woodrow Kroll: Quite a boss, huh? How would you respond to a supervisor like that? If you're a believer, the Bible tells you exactly what kind of attitude you should have.
1 Peter 2:18, "Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh."
It's one thing to submit to a reasonable boss...but a mean-spirited boss? Well, you heard what the Bible says—"be submissive, not only to the good and gentle but also the harsh."
I'm not talking about blindly doing something that's immoral or unethical just because your boss tells you to. I'm talking about doing the right thing with the right heart attitude toward your boss.
So whether you have a kind boss, or one like Jim, make the right choice. The Bible tells you how. Read it today and you'll feel much better about your boss tomorrow. |
