Woodrow Kroll: I'm Woodrow Kroll and this is the Bible Minute. A question that most of us come to sooner or later is this, "Does anyone care?"
Voice 1: My wife just left me. I've never felt more alone. I'm not sure anyone cares.
Voice 2: I buried my child today. Where are my friends now?
Voice 3: All of my investments have gone bad. I've lost everything. Does anyone care?
Woodrow Kroll: The answer is "Yes!" Jesus cares, even when it seems no one else does. In James 5:11 we read, "The Lord is very compassionate." The word "compassion" means, "to suffer with." What the Bible is saying is that Jesus literally feels our pain. The Gospel writers noted on many occasions that Jesus was moved by compassion for those who were sick and hurting. He would then reach out to heal, instruct and comfort them.
Maybe you're feeling hurt today. Life is tough, isn't it? And you wonder if anyone really cares. Why not open your Bible and read about Jesus' life in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Notice all those times that He was "moved by compassion." Jesus is the same today as He was then. He really cares. Let Him demonstrate that compassion in your life. The Bible. Read it for answers. Read it for life.
