Woodrow Kroll: Many kids miss having a father in the house. A few years ago, U.S. News & World Report claimed that 38 percent of all kids now live without their biological fathers. What's more, over half of today's children will spend at least part of their childhood without a father.
I'm Woodrow Kroll, and those are pretty disturbing statistics. But even if our earthly fathers fail us, we do have a Father who won't. He's our Heavenly Father, God Himself.
On the morning that Jesus was resurrected, Mary Magdalene was left alone at the tomb weeping because she thought His body had been stolen. When Jesus approached her she fell at his feet.
But Jesus commanded her in John 20:17, "Go to My brethren and say to them, 'I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.'" Jesus made it very clear that the person of the Godhead whom He called Father would also be a Father to those who follow Him.
Maybe your earthly father is no longer with you because of death or for some other reason. But you have a Heavenly Father who will always be there for you. He's promised that in His Word, and the more you read your Bible the better you will get to know your Father. Open your Bible and discover His relationship with you. Don't miss enjoying a Father who really loves you.
