Woodrow Kroll: Have you ever wondered how big God is? Hi, I'm Woodrow Kroll with today's Bible Minute.
I have to admit, when I try to grasp the bigness of God, I get bogged down a little. But it helps to think of it like this:
Our Galaxy is 100,000 light-years across and our solar system is two-thirds of the way out from the center. There was a time when people thought our galaxy comprised the whole Universe. Now we know that there are millions and millions of other galaxies. In addition, each galaxy contains around 200 billion billion stars. That's right, 200 billion billion.
Now why is this important? Because Genesis 1:1 says, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Everything in the heavens and beyond God created. Talk about immense. There's nothing you can see that God's creative hand didn't touch.
So you want to know how big God is? Just look into the sky on a clear night. He's bigger than all of that. Then turn in your Bible and read the creation story. It's found in the Book of Genesis. You'll see a God so big He created everything there is. Read your Bible and meet this God!
