Kid 1: Come on, Jeri, pleeeease tell us the secret. Kid 2: Yeah, we won't tell anyone. We promise. Kid 3: Okay, but ya' gotta keep it to yourself. SFX: bzzzzzzzz: telling secret Kid 1: (yelling) Hey, everyone! Guess what Jeri just told me… Kid 3: Oh, brother! Woodrow Kroll: More times than not, secrets don't stay secret very long, even among adults. I'm Woodrow Kroll with today's Bible Minute. We have to be careful whom we take into confidence. Samson, in the Bible, posed a riddle to his enemies. They couldn't get the answer out of him so they went to his wife who quickly let the cat out of the bag. Judges 14:18 records Samson's response, "If you had not plowed with my heifer, you would not have solved my riddle!" Samson trusted his wife and she failed him. The truth is that we can't always trust others to keep our most important secrets. People will let us down. But the good news is that God can be trusted. We can go to Him with every detail of our lives and know He will keep them in confidence. Open your Bible to the Book of Psalms and read the intimacy others have had with God. You can have that intimacy too. He is our friend and confidante. Read Psalm 42 or Psalm 63 and learn from the Bible that you can get to know God and trust Him today.
