随著医学的进步和我们对人体的了解,科学家们今天对幻觉的了解,比以往任何时候都更加丰富和全面。幻觉不会持续数小时或数天; 幻觉本质上是个人的,而不是群体的体验。幻觉通常是那些有精神分裂症症状,或与吸毒和酗酒有关的人的经历。幻觉发生后,如果小心谨慎,个人可以很容易地认识到他们听到或看到的不是自然的,而只是在他们的脑海中发生的。根据今天已知的幻觉,可以证明耶稣的门徒和其他五百个人所目睹的不仅仅是幻觉,而是耶稣从死里复,他活生生的真实显现。耶稣的这些显现和信息极大地改变了他们的生活,以至于他们相信他是弥赛亚和上帝,并以余生跟随他的教导和生活方式。将耶稣的显现,以“仅仅是幻觉和主观异像”解释,希望可把它消除,是无效的。
