see：
1.看见：I looked but saw nothing.
2.了解，领会：I see what you mean.
3.注意，留心：See (to it) that the work is done properly.
4.经历，阅历：He has seen a lot in his life.
5.考虑：Let me see
6.护送，陪伴：to see sb home,to see sb off
7.访问，会见：I went to see a friend.
8.查看，检查：Please see what the trouble is with the machine.
还有一些词组的习惯用法，我个人认为你所说的就是第三种意义了，即：注意，留心 。
