如实传扬福音

“得我话的人，可以诚实讲说我的话。”（耶23：28）

每当卫斯理派去传道的年轻人回来时，他都会问两个问题：“有人悔改吗？”和“有人愤怒吗？”如果两个答案都是否定的，他就提醒他们注意——他们没有如实传达神的话语。他解释说，当神的话语被忠实地呈现时，人们要么相信，要么敌对。

使徒保罗对哥林多信徒说：“若不传福音，我便有祸了。”（林前9：6）如今，许多传道人缺乏保罗那种宣扬真理的激情。他们似乎更关心避开可能“冒犯”他人的言论或真理。为了顺应世界不断变化的标准，他们采取妥协的态度，并歪曲圣经的话语，而不是以胆量和爱对抗邪恶。

神警告那些歪曲他话语的人。通过先知耶利米，他宣布他反对那些“以谎言和矜夸使我百姓走错了路”的宗教领袖（耶23：32）。然而，神敦促先知们“诚实地讲说我的话。”（耶23：28）

神的仆人要勇敢地传扬神的道。今天，我们比以往任何时候都更需要为这事祷告。

Speaking The Truth

He who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully. —Jeremiah 23:28

Whenever the young men whom JohnWesley sent out to preach returned, he would ask two questions: “Was anyoneconverted?” and “Did anyone get angry?” If the answer was no to both questions,he cautioned them about entering the ministry. He explained that when God’sWord is faithfully presented, people either believe or they becomeantagonistic.

The apostle Paul told theCorinthian believers, “Woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!” (1 Cor. 9:16).Many preachers in our day don’t have the passion Paul had for proclaiming thetruth. They seem to be more concerned with avoiding statements or truths thatmight be offensive. In their desire to conform to the world’s shifting standards,they compromise and twist the words of the Bible instead of confronting evilwith courage and love.

God warns those who distort Hiswords. Through the prophet Jeremiah, He declared His opposition to thereligious leaders who “cause My people to err by their lies and by theirrecklessness” (Jer. 23:32). Instead, God urged the prophets, “Speak My wordfaithfully” (v.28).

Today more than ever, we need topray that men of God will courageously hold forth His Word.
