约雅斤的名字的意思是：上帝必建立。
以未米罗达名字的意思是：米罗达的弄人。
米罗达是巴比伦神祗，见这节经文：
【耶50:2】 你们要在万国中传扬报告，竖立大旗。要报告，不可隐瞒，说，巴比伦被攻取，彼勒蒙羞，米罗达惊惶。巴比伦的神像都蒙羞。她的偶像都惊惶。
'Announce and proclaim among the nations, lift up a banner and proclaim it; keep nothing back, but say, 'Babylon will be captured; Bel will be put to shame, Marduk filled with terror. Her images will be put to shame and her idols filled with terror.'

王下25：28的“说恩言”，同一个希伯来词在耶利米书中也出现过：

这个词在创世纪中也出现过，是酒政被官复原职那一次：
【创40:14】 但你得好处的时候，求你记念我，施恩与我，在法老面前提说我，救我出这监牢。
But when all goes well with you, remember me and show me kindness; mention me to Pharaoh and get me out of this prison.
But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and show kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:

所以，我们是否可以推论：以未米罗达是想让约雅斤像当年约瑟对法老一样对他，使他的国家大大兴盛？
当然，有人会问，那以未米罗达为什么不早这样做？
答案很简单：尽管约雅斤坐牢坐了37年，以未米罗达在位却仅仅一年。
圣经编修学大师Von Rad从这几节经文（也是列王记最后一段经文）中看出，大卫王朝还有希望，犹大王仍然受恩待。
也有一些学者认为，这不是希望，而是恐怖，因为“上帝必建立”成了“米罗达的弄人”的仆役，而列王记没有任何证据表明，约雅斤还有后裔可以延续大卫王朝。
