On Baptism of the Holy Ghost

It was my first time to have "heard" of the baptism of the Holy Ghost in the old testament in an article with a title

"BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST = ANOINTED OR FILLED".

It says

"The English word “Baptism”, was translated from the Greek word, “baptizma” or “baptisis,” which means a dipping to put under; and “baptizo”, which means to dip or immerse. The word is employed for both water and Spirit baptisms. To be filled with the Holy Spirit is to be baptized or immersed into the Spirit of God. Water is a type of the Holy Spirit: <…water springing up into everlasting life>. 7: 37-38 < …rivers of living water…the Spirit…Holy Ghost>. Baptism, filled or anointed are words used interchangeably in scriptures to describe the unity of God’s Spirit with mortal man, in both the Old and New Testament."

I am not ready to JUDGE if it is a Damnable Heresy, but I am wondering that when the author judges against others, does he judge according to the Word of God or just according to his own understanding of the Bible?

There is a difference between the Word of God and our understanding of It. It is dangerous to take the two as though they were same. Even if our understanding of the Word comes from the revelation of Jesus Christ our Lord Himself, our understanding is still in progressive way to the perfect.

Therefore, lets judge not according to our own understanding, but leave the judgment to the Word of our Lord when He comes back.

Lets do everything in truth and in love to edify each other. To God be the glory.

To me, the baptism of the Holy Ghost had not come until Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven,  for it was a Promise:

Mar 1:8

I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall  baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

The baptism of the Holy Ghost is UNIQUE in the new testament. It had never happened or been mentioned as a reality in the OT. It was prophesied for the future.

Besides, the "word" study in so called original texts is OFTEN unreliable. One could not find a similar hebrew word in the OT scripture to mean "immerse" or "dip" as in the Greek.

John the Baptist was "filled" with the Holy Ghost from his mom's womb, but not baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Jesus was ANOINTED with the Holy Spirit by Yahweh at Jordan River, which is not called spiritual baptism. He was sinless and there was no need for Him to be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Instead, He was born of the Holy Spirit and had been with the Spirit since His conception in His Mom's womb.

The baptism of the Holy Ghost is to take away sins by burying in the Spirit. Burying in the Spirit is to die to sins and live to God: being born again begins here; spiritual resurrection begins here; and new life begins here.

Rom 6:3   Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4   Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Baptism, filled or anointed are words NOT used interchangeably in scriptures.

Baptism and being anointed seldom mean the same, but being anointed could function as being baptized.

"Being filled" can mean either "being anointed" or "baptism", or both.

Spiritual baptism starts from the most inner part (soul or heart) and leads the indwelling Spirit of God.

Being filled could be in both most inner part (soul or heart)  and the inner part (spirit).

Being anointed could be in all the three layers (soul, spirit, and body) or each one or two of the three layers.

How Many Times Were Jesus Baptized?

The first time that Jesus was baptized was with water by John the Baptist. This signified that Jesus as the sacrificial Lamb of God had to be firstly cleansed for he would take away the sins of the world to the sheol. That is the why Jesus said to John the Baptist, "Suffer [it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness." (Mat 3:15)

Right after Jesus came out of the water, the Holy Spirit fell on Him in a form like a dove. Was Jesus baptized with the Holy Ghost in any sense? No.  The baptism with the Holy Ghost is to wash away the actual sins in heart. Jesus was sinless. His being filled with the Spirit was not to take away His sins.  If it is not for baptism, for what? Jesus said,

Luk 4:18  The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Luk 4:19  To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Then, would Jesus have to be baptized after he was baptized with water? Notice what Jesus said at least some months later AFTER his water baptism:

Mar 10:38  But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
Mar 10:39  And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

Jesus said  "I am baptized", not  "I was baptized". Because the "I am baptized" had not happened yet, Jesus actually meant "I will be baptized" unto actual death for He would die and be buried in the heart of the earth for three days and nights and go to the sheol to bring the sins of the world there, and seize the keys of the gates of the Sheol from the Devil, so that the spirit-souls of the old testament saints from be released from the sheol, and we new testament believers do not have to go down to the sheol.

He that is dead is freed from sin. But Christ died for our sins and were buried, i.e., baptized.

Jesus could not be baptized with the Holy Spirit for he was sinless. Jesus had to die and be baptized (buried) onto death and go to the sheol so that we could be baptized with the Holy Spirit unto death to sins (by being identified with Christ) and live unto God.

Hallelu, hallelu, halleluYah!

Where Is the Scripture Which States the Baptism of the Holy Ghost Takes Away Our Sins?

It is a skillful but not wise question to disbelieve that the baptism of the Holy Ghost takes away our sins.

The same question can be asked to the unbeliever, "Where is the Scripture which states you are a Christian?"

A reasonable and wise question should be like this, "Can you give me at least two scriptures that support the understanding that the baptism of the Holy Ghost takes away our sins?" Two or three witnesses establish a word of truth.

2Cr 13:1 This [is] the third [time] I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.

As you can quote many scriptures to support that you are a Christian, I can quote many scriptures to support the understanding that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is to take away the sins in heart for new birth.

COLOR CODE for the Baptism of the Holy Ghost in the Name of Jesus Christ for taking away (remissin of) sins to receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost: (Jesus died first and then he was raised up; likewise, we are baptized with the Holy Ghost first and then we are born again.)

RED: The name of Jesus Christ

BLUE: Spiritual baptism (bury in the Spirit), to death (dead to sins), etc.

GREEN: Receive the indwelling Spirit, being raised up, resurrection, new life, born again, new creatures, new creation, regeneration, saints, holy ones ...

The baptism of the Holy Ghost is The POWER of GOD to take away sins by burying in the Spirit. Burying in the Spirit is to die to sins and live to God: born again begins here; spiritual resurrection begins here; and new life begins here...

Rom 6:3   Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4   Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life

Rom 6:5   For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also [in the likeness] of [his] resurrection
Rom 6:6   Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7   For he that is dead is freed from sin
Rom 6:8   Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him
Rom 6:9   Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
Rom 6:10   For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God
Rom 6:11   Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Isa 4:3  And it shall come to pass, [that he that is] left in Zion, and [he that] remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, [even] every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:
Isa 4:4  When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

Eze 36:25  Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
Eze 36:26  A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Eze 36:27  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do [them].

Mat 3:11  I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and [with] fire:
Mat 3:12  Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

Chinese Bible readers always read the baptism as washing or being washed though few know the spiritual baptism indeed takes away the desires to sin.

Isa 1:16   Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
Isa 1:17   Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.
Isa 1:18   Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

1Cr 6:11 ...but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Act 2:38  ...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Act 22:16 ...be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

1Cr 12:13  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Gal 3:26  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

Glory to God!
