Man 1: You know this religious stuff is all right.
Man 2: What do you mean?
Man 1: Well, you can go out and live like the devil; then come to church and ask God's forgiveness. Then everything's fine. You can have your cake and eat it too.
Woodrow Kroll: That man is flirting with disaster. I'm Woodrow Kroll and this is the Bible Minute.
Many people like to reflect on the goodness, love and forgiveness of God; but they fail to realize that He is also a God of judgment. God is not naive concerning people's hearts or intentions.
Psalm 18:25,26 reminds us, "With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; With a blameless man You will show Yourself blameless; With the pure You will show Yourself pure; And with the devious You will show Yourself shrewd."
People who think they can play games with God are in for a big surprise. God is merciful and loving and He stands ready to forgive those who truly confess their sin. But never forget: He is also just and stands ready to judge those who choose to walk in rebellion to Him. The Bible that says we will reap what we sow. Why not take your Bible right now and get serious about God. Read some of the psalms and find out how He really wants you to live. |
