Woodrow Kroll: I'm Woodrow Kroll and this is the Bible Minute. What does a person of faith sound like at night? How about something like this?
Woodrow Kroll: Sounds like someone sleeping, doesn't it? Now follow me on this, I have a point I want to make. In Psalm 4:8 we read: "I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety." The psalmist David knew that when our faith is placed in God, there's no need for anxiety and fear. Even in difficult times we can lie down and sleep in peace. Now isn't that comforting?
So let me ask, how have your nights been lately? Do you lie in bed and worry about the cares of the day? Do you toss and turn about things you can't control? If sleep doesn't come easily, you may want to ask yourself, who are you trusting in. If your faith is in God, lie down in peace and sleep, knowing God is watching over you.
That's why I love to read the Scriptures. The Bible teaches me everything I need to know about God and that strengthens my faith and gives me rest. So if you want a peaceful night's sleep, try spending some time reading your Bible.
