Woman 1: Now, let's see. I have two boxes of crackers, three rolls of summer sausage, bread, lunch meat, cheese, milk, eggs…I wonder if I really need the eggs?
Woman 2: Whatcha doin'? Cleaning out the refrigerator?
Woman 1: No, I'm packing supplies for a trip tomorrow.
Woman 2: How far are you going?
Woman 1: It's a couple of hours away at least.
Woman 2: Only two hours?
Woman 1: Yeah, but you can't tell what'll happen. Maybe I'll pack those eggs after all.
Woodrow Kroll: Maybe our friend is going a little overboard, but haven't we all worried about whether we have enough to see us through?
The Psalmist found a solution to that concern. In Psalm 3:5-6, he says: "I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around."
The writer had tapped into the source that provides for all our needs—the Lord God Himself. It is God who sustains us day and night. The apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 4:19, "And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
