One time Thorvaldsen, the famous Danish sculptor, returned from Italy back home to Denmark. When he unpacked his chiseled masterpieces, there was packing straw left in the box in which they were encased. Hidden in that straw were some seeds from the gardens of Rome, and the next summer Italian flowers, that had never before been known to grow in Denmark, bloomed in a Copenhagen street.
Deeds of kindness “sown” (done) in the most unpromising places will often “bloom” in the lives of others, making them more beautiful and noble. |
