Woodrow Kroll: Have you ever known people who were so opinionated they couldn't even get along with themselves? Contention oozes from their lips. They always have a better idea. If you've done it, they've done it better. If you have a pain, they've had worse. Let's face it, some people are just hard to get along with.
So what are we to do?
Proverbs 15:18 tells us, "A wrathful man stirs up strife, but he who is slow to anger allays contention." In other words we can either pour gas or water on the fire. If you want to get burned, let difficult people get to you and lash out. If you want to put the fire out, be patient and slow to anger.
