Doctor: Mrs. Smith, your husband needs a heart transplant in the next couple of hours or we'll lose him. I think a heart donor just died at General hospital down the road, we're going to see if they can help us save your husband.
Mrs. Smith: Thank you, Doctor. Thank goodness General can help.
Nurse: Doctor, General just called. They have a heart but they said that we can't have it. They said, "finders keepers and we need to find our own donors."
Mrs. Smith: (exasperated tone) They said what...? This isn't competition. This is my husband's life we're talking about.
Woodrow Kroll: Can you imagine such bizarre behavior from a hospital? While the patient dies, they are running their own little competition in town. The church would never do that, would they?
Does your church serve other churches or compete with them? Are churches guilty of pointing fingers at each other while people are dying without Christ all around them? In Matthew 16:18Jesus stated, "I will build My church," not churches but one church. Those churches Jesus calls "His Church" must work together in unity.
Pray for the Body of Christ. Then pick up a Bible and read the Book of Acts this week. God's Word will show how we can cooperate in being His light to the world. |
