Song of Solomon 8:6,7 paint a vivid picture, "For love is as strong as death...its flames are flames of fire, a most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it."
Something as powerful as love must not be taken lightly especially in the dating relationship. So how can we as parents instruct our children, specifically our daughters? Song of Solomon adds this advice, "Do not stir up nor awaken love until it pleases."
That's a little difficult to understand but what Solomon was saying was go slow—be careful! Don't be anxious for love until its proper time. That's the advice we need to give our daughters. It's advice for life.
