Woodrow Kroll: Confidence is a powerful emotion. Many people succeed or fail because of their confidence or lack of it. I'm Woodrow Kroll and this is the Bible Minute.
When athletes have confidence, they perform better. When musicians have confidence, they play better. And when salespeople have confidence, they sell better. When we expect to succeed, we often do.
But what about the Christian? Isn't confidence flirting with pride? Not if we understand the words of Paul in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Paul was very confident but his confidence was in Christ, not in himself. We can go through life knowing that if we seek God's will and walk in obedience to Him, He will give us what we need to succeed.
Too many Christians lack confidence because they're trusting in their own strength rather than God's strength to accomplish the task. Trust in Jesus Christ, walk in His ways and confidently pursue the tasks that God has given you.
It's great to know that God's Word offers such practical encouragement. The Bible. Read it for answers; read it for life.
