Lady 1: I'm really worried about Julie. Ever since her mom died she hasn't left her house. Lady 2: I've noticed that, too. I've tried to get her involved in something to get her mind off her grief but she just refuses to try. Lady 1: So what do we do? Do we leave her alone and let her grieve, or do we aggressively try to help her get on with her life? Woodrow Kroll: Grief is a powerful emotion. David experienced it. Listen to his words in Psalm 6, verses 6 and 7: "I am weary with my groaning; All night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears. My eye wastes away because of grief; It grows old because of all my enemies." Sounds like David was in pretty bad shape. In Psalm 6 he poured out his heart before God. I'm Woodrow Kroll with today's Bible Minute reminding you that the best thing you can do to help those who are grieving is to listen with compassion. We can encourage them to seek refuge in the God of all comfort. If you're experiencing the pain of grief today, won't you turn to God and His Word? You'll find comfort in the Psalms and promises throughout the Bible that will uphold you and strengthen you.
