Woodrow Kroll: What do the names Earl Pitts, Aldrich Ames and Harold Nicholson have in common? All three have been accused of betraying their government by selling secrets to enemy agents.
I'm Woodrow Kroll and in this Bible Minute I want to talk with you about betrayal.
Jesus knew how it felt to have someone turn against Him. He was betrayed by a man who for three years pretended to be a loyal friend. Luke 22:3-6 tells us that Judas went to the high priest and plotted to betray Jesus in return for 30 pieces of silver. That betrayal caused Jesus' death on Calvary's cross.
So how about you? Are you feeling betrayed today? What you need is the comfort that's found only in God's Word. You'll discover that God can even bring good out of betrayal.
After all, if Jesus hadn't died, where would we find salvation? The Bible is God's handbook for living. Read it for yourself. Let God bring to your life the comfort that can only be given by one who was betrayed Himself. Read your Bible and be encouraged. |
