Woodrow Kroll: People today are confused about a lot of things.
Man: The stock market is up today and down. I don't know what to do with my money.
Lady: He says he loves me, but there's just something wrong with this relationship.
Woodrow Kroll: But the most significant confusion today is related to how people view God. Some see God as kind of a cosmic Santa Claus waiting to give out presents to all who are good. Others see God as a divine taskmaster waiting to clobber all those who step out of line.
But the most confused are those who think that they are greater than God. The ancient King of Babylon was like that. Nebuchadnezzar thought he was the master of his own fate.
But God taught him a lesson. Listen to the King's words in Daniel 4:37, after God revealed His power to the king: "Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of Heaven, all of whose works are truth and His ways justice. And those who walk in pride He is able to abase."
If you're unsure about who God is, here's how to be sure. Take your Bible and read the story of Nebuchadnezzar in the Old Testament Book of Daniel. You won't read long before you'll discover why God is God. |
