Woodrow Kroll: Imagine yourself in a cage with 40 roaring lions. Pretty frightening. Yet that's precisely what Alfred Schneider did in his world-record lion taming feat.
Lion tamers agree that what makes their profession so dangerous is that lions are unpredictable and can snap without warning. That's not terribly unlike an angry person. I'm Woodrow Kroll talking with you today about anger.
Ephesians 4:31 urges us to "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you." There's a reason God tells us to get rid of anger. It's not because He wants us to be emotional wet noodles. No, God knows anger's destructive power and how it can make a man or woman snap at a moment's notice.
Lion taming is a dangerous occupation. More than 20 lion tamers have been killed since the turn of the century. Anger is also tough to tame and can be just as deadly. God's response to anger is blunt and bold: get rid of it. You can learn how to control this dangerous emotion by reading your Bible. It has great advice on conquering your anger. |
