Lady 1: I'm so upset. Mac doesn't love me anymore. I try to push all the right buttons but nothing seems to help.

Lady 2: What happened?

Lady 1: He used to say "I love you" all the time. Now my son changed the screen saver and it just shows race cars.

Lady 2: Excuse me... who’s Mac?

Lady 1: My computer of course. I'm so upset... He never says he loves me anymore...

Lady 2: OOOOOkay....!

Woodrow Kroll: That's one lonely lady. Just because a screen saver flashes the words "I love you" doesn't mean the computer is capable of love.

People can also become dispassionate in their relationships, including their relationship with God. Listen to these words from the Angel of the LORD in Revelation 3:15, "I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot." The first century church in Laodicea had grown dispassionate in their relationship with God. They were merely cranking out religion.

God isn't impressed with religion, He wants a relationship. He wants our hearts. And how will you get such a relationship with God? Pick up your Bible and begin reading it today. That’s how you’ll get to know God. You'll be glad you did.
