Woodrow Kroll: Have you ever considered the different forms water can take? There's ice... SFX: Sound of skaters, horse bells jingling. Woodrow Kroll: Steam... SFX: Teakettle whistling. Woodrow Kroll: And, of course, liquid... SFX: Water splashing Woodrow Kroll: But no matter what form it's in, it's still water. Hi, I'm Woodrow Kroll, and this is the Bible Minute. I don't want to push this analogy too far, but in some ways God is like water. There's only one God, but he exists in three separate persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—three distinct personalities, yet unified in one God. We call this the Trinity. It's why Jesus could say to Philip in John 14:9, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father." Or why He said in John 10:30, "I and My Father are one." So why is this important to you? Because each person of the Trinity has a specific role. The Father is the Creator. The Son is the Redeemer. And the Spirit is our Comforter. All three are united into one God. We don't have a God who is divided. We have a God who is one in purpose and character but shows Himself to us in three different persons. How well do you know Him? Want to know Him better? You can. Open your Bible and read any of the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. You'll see what sets God apart and how He can make a difference in your life. The Bible. Read it for answers. Read it for life.
