[B]Woodrow Kroll: [/B] Why does God allow war? Can any good come from it? I'm Woodrow Kroll and those are tough questions on today's Bible Minute. But these questions have been asked since the beginning of time. Judges chapter 20 records a civil war in the nation of Israel. It began when a group of men of the tribe of Benjamin committed a terrible sin. When the other tribes discovered it, they rightfully demanded the Benjamites repent and atone for it. But rather than do what was right, the Benjamites compounded the problem by gearing up for war against all of Israel. Their refusal angered God...and ultimately the tribe of Benjamin was defeated. Over 25,000 men lost their lives. Why does God allow war? Often it's because men sin and God allows war as an instrument of His judgment. God expected Benjamin to deal with their sin; they did not and they paid a heavy price for it. God doesn't view any sin lightly. Whether it's the sin of a nation or your sin or my sin, God expects people to repent and come clean before Him or punishment awaits us. Why not take some time today to read the story we've talked about? You can find it in the Old Testament Book of Judges, chapter 20. Read it more than once. And then make sure your life is right before our awesome and holy God.
