Remembering China in Prayer November, 2003 " . . . Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints." [Revelation 5:8b] Praying for China is an action indicating love for millions of lost souls, which is pleasing to God. Please pray through these items: More and more intellectuals in China not only confess faith in Jesus, but also dedicate their lives to serving Him. However, the majority of these new believers do not get enough nourishment for steady spiritual growth and those who desire to serve God do not get the training to equip them for service. Pray that God will provide the resources to quench the thirst and to satisfy the hunger of new believers. Also pray for God to send His workers to train and equip those who have a heart to serve Him. Many overseas Christians and missionaries doing evangelism in China feel stressed out because there is a lot more work than they can handle. They need coworkers to share the workload with them, to support them when they feel weak, and to comfort them when they get lonely and discouraged. Pray for God to send the right people to partner and network with His servants in China. May the Holy Spirit comfort and encourage them, and deliver them from all evil. Around 70 million people use the Internet in China; more than 50,000 new users go online each day. These people learn a great deal from the outside world. As they get more knowledgeable and are more open-minded, some of them get caught in things like pornography that have a very bad influence on them. Pray for God to direct the Internet users in China to find Him and to uplift His name, and at the same time to blind them from seeing anything that they should not see. Every year great numbers of overseas Christians travel to China on business trips, for visits, or for other purposes. These people have many opportunities to share the Gospel with their colleagues, friends or relatives. Pray that the Christians traveling to China will have the zeal, wisdom and boldness to witness for Christ whenever they can. Thank God for the hard work of numerous missionaries evangelizing huge numbers of people throughout China since the early 19th century. It is such a pity that in some regions the Christians gradually stop growing in biblical truths after the missionaries leave them. Take the Christians in a region in Yunnan Province for example. The majority of them do not understand what it means to be "born again." They just assume that they are Christians because their parents are. Pray for God to enlighten these so-called Christians so they will understand the true meaning of being a Christian and will live up to the teachings of the Bible. A region in Yunnan Province experienced another earthquake last month. Casualties and injuries caused by earthquakes have also occurred in Gansu Province recently. It will take a long time for the victims to have their homes rebuilt. Pray for God to help the victims, especially the Christians among them so they will remain steadfast in their faith. Also pray for overseas Christians to show their love to the victims by extending their helping hands to them.
