Luke 10:25-37 ( NLT ) One day an expert in religious law stood up to test Jesus by asking him this question: “ Teacher, what must I do to receive eternal life?” Jesus replied, “ What does the law of Moses say? How do you read it ?” The man answered, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And “Love your neighbor as yourself.” “ Right!” Jesus told him. “ Do this and you will live!” The man wanted to justify his actions, so he asked Jesus, “ And who is my neighbor?” Jesus replied with an illustration: “ A Jewish man was traveling on a trip from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes and money, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road. “ By chance a Jewish priest came along, but when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by. A Temple assistant walked over and looked at him lying there, but he also passed by on the other side. “ Then a despised Samaritan came along, and when he saw the man, he felt deep pity. Kneeling beside him, the Samaritan soothed his wounds with medicine and bandaged them. Then he put the man on his own donkey and took him to an inn, where he took care of him. The next day he handed the innkeeper two pieces of silver and told him to take care of the man. “ If his bill runs higher than that,” he said, “I’ll pay the difference the next time I am here.” “ Now which of these three would you say was a neighbor to the man who was attacked by bandits?” Jesus asked. The man replied, “ The one who showed him mercy.” Then Jesus said, “ Yes, now go and do the same.”

路加福音10:25--37:　一天，有一个律法师起来试探耶稣，说：“老师，我该做什么才能得到永恒的生命？”耶稣说：“法律书上说的是什么？你念的是怎样呢？”那人回答：“你要全心、全部的灵魂、全力、全意爱主——你的上帝，又要爱邻舍如同自己”耶稣对他说：“你答得对，照这样做，就可以得到永恒的生命。”那个律法师为要表示自己有理，就问耶稣：“谁是我的邻人呢？”耶稣说：“有一个人从耶路撒冷下耶利哥，途中遇到强盗。他们剥掉他的衣服，抢了他的钱，把他打个半死，丢在路边，他们就走了。刚好有一个祭司从这条路下来；他一看见那个人躺在那里，就经过他，从另一边走开。同样，有一个殿堂助理来到这里；看见他躺在那里，也从另一边走开。惟有一个不起眼的撒马利亚人路过那人身边，一看见他，就动了慈心。他蹲在他的旁边，用药倒在他的伤口，替他包扎，然后把他扶上自己的牲口，带他到一家客栈，在那里照顾他。 第二天，他拿两个银币交给客栈的主人，说：请你照顾他，他的费用超过这些，我回来必还你．于是耶稣问：“依你的看法，这三个人当中，哪一个是遭遇到强盗那人的邻居呢？”他回答：“是怜悯他的那个人。”耶稣说：“是的，你去照样做吧！”
