Luke 12:13-26 ( NRSV ) Someone in the crowd said to him, “ Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me.” But he said to him, “ Friend, who set me to be a judge or arbitrator over you ?” And he said to them, “ Take care ! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.” Then he told them a parable: “ The land of a rich man produced abundantly. And he thought to himself, “ What should I do, for I have no place to store my crops?” Then he said, “ I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years, relax, eat, drink, be merry.” But God said to him, “ You fool ! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?” So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God.” He said to his disciples, “ Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life ? If then you are not able to do so small a thing as that, why do you worry about the rest?

 

路加福音：12:13-26:众人中有一个人对耶稣说：“老师，请你告诉我的兄弟和我分开家业。”耶稣对这个人说：“朋友，谁立我作你们断事的官，给你们分家业呢？”于是对众人说：你们要谨慎自守，免去一切的贪心，因为人的生命不在乎家道丰富。”就用比喻对他们说：“有一个财主，田产丰盛，自己心里思想说：我的出产没有地方收藏，怎么办呢？又说：我要这么办：要把我的仓库拆了，另盖更大的，在那里好收藏我一切的粮食和财物，然后我对我的灵魂说：灵魂哪，你有许多财物积存，可作多年的费用，只管安安逸逸的吃喝快乐吧！但是上帝却对他说：无知的人哪，今夜必要你的灵魂，你所预备的要归谁呢？凡为自己积财的，在上帝面前却不富足。耶稣对门徒说：所以我告诉你们，不要为生命忧虑吃什么，为身体忧虑穿什么。因为生命胜于饮食，身体胜于衣裳。你想，乌鸦也不种，也不收，又没有仓，又没有库，上帝尚且养活它们。你们比飞鸟是何等的贵重！你们哪一个能用思虑使寿数多加一刻呢？这么小的事情你们尚且不能做，为什么还忧虑其余的事呢？
