One stands in awe at those
mighty forces of nature over
which human science and
ingenuity have little or no control.
The tides ebb and flow with no
human power to disrupt their
rhythm. The earth rotates on its
axis, the constellations in their
mighty orbits, the seasons in their
order, and man adjusts himself to
their movements. He cannot
change the progression or
succession of star and planet, of
seed time and harvest, of life and
dissolution. Happy is he who
conforms to God’s order in the
physical world, for though he
cannot order the tides, he can
harness their power; though he
cannot change the seasons, he can
cooperate with them for bountiful
harvests; though he cannot
prevent death, he can prepare for
life eternal. |
