创世记——第三十三章

创世记第三十三章： 33:1 雅各举目观看，见以扫来了，后头跟著四百人，他就把孩子们分开交给利亚、拉结和两个使女， 33:2 并且叫两个使女和她们的孩子在前头，利亚和她的孩子在后头，拉结和约瑟在尽后头。 33:3 他自己在他们前头过去，一连七次俯伏在地，才就近他哥哥。 33:4 以扫跑来迎接他，将他抱住，又搂著他的颈项与他亲嘴，两个人就哭了。 33:5 以扫举目看见妇人孩子，就说：“这些和你同行的是谁呢？”雅各说：“这些孩子是　神施恩给你仆人的。” 33:6 于是两个使女和她们的孩子前来下拜；　 33:7 利亚和她的孩子也前来下拜；随后约瑟和拉结也前来下拜。 33:8 以扫说：“我所遇见的这些群畜是甚么意思呢？”雅各说：“是要在我主面前蒙恩的。” 33:9 以扫说：“兄弟啊，我的已经够了，你的仍归你吧！” 33:10 雅各说：“不然，我若在你眼前蒙恩，就求你从我手里收下这礼物，因为我见了你的面，如同见了　神的面，并且你容纳了我。 33:11 求你收下我带来给你的礼物，因为　神恩待我，使我充足。”雅各再三地求他，他才收下了。 33:12 以扫说：“我们可以起身前往，我在你前头走。” 33:13 雅各对他说：“我主知道孩子们年幼娇嫩，牛羊也正在乳养的时候，若是催赶一天，群畜都必死了。 33:14 求我主在仆人前头走，我要量著在我面前群畜和孩子的力量慢慢地前行，直走到西珥我主那里。” 33:15 以扫说：“容我把跟随我的人留几个在你这里。”雅各说：“何必呢？只要在我主眼前蒙恩就是了。” 33:16 于是以扫当日起行，回往西珥去了。 33:17 雅各就往疏割去，在那里为自己盖造房屋，又为牲畜搭棚；因此那地方名叫疏割（注：就是“棚”的意思）。 33:18 雅各从巴旦亚兰回来的时候，平平安安地到了迦南地的示剑城，在城东支搭帐棚， 33:19 就用一百块银子向示剑的父亲、哈抹的子孙买了支帐棚的那块地， 33:20 在那里筑了一座坛，起名叫伊利伊罗伊以色列（注：就是“　神、以色列　神”的意思）。

　　三三1～11 以扫愈走愈近，雅各再次恐惧起来，自自然然就替他最爱的家人重新排位前进，好让他们得到最安全的保护。雅各此时还不能完全凭信心而行。虽然耶和华在他前面行，他仍觉得不够。雅各一连七次俯伏在地，才就近他哥哥。一连七次俯伏在地，就好像我国古时向皇帝行三跪九叩之礼一样，是向君王表示尊敬。雅各跟以扫见面以前，采取了各样的预防措施，希望藉此消除他报复的想法。相别来说，当以扫先看见雅各，跟着是雅各的妻子和孩子，他显得比雅各从容、友善、热情。他初时婉拒雅各馈赠的牲畜作礼物，但最后都是欣然接受了。雅各自称是哥哥的仆人，似乎是过于屈从了。有人认为他对以扫说，见了以扫的面，如同见了神的面，是要奉承以扫、夸张事实。有人则认为神的面是指和好后的面容。

　　以扫原先可能还怀着敌意，但如今在与雅各实际相会时，他的态度已变为友善，这是显明雅各的祷告已经得着神的答应了，并且是过于他所求所想的(参卅二11)。我们可以说，以扫饶恕雅各必是出于神特别的感动，不是出于以扫自己的本心。神已经作了工，他能使仇敌在眨眼间变为朋友，使以扫完全不念旧恶，不再记雅各的仇。雅各此时才意识到：他的礼物是多余的；神没有用它们就早已预备好了道路。神已经在雅各以先去预备了以扫的心。神不需雅各准备的“礼物”达成和解，对神的信心不需要人力的预备！

　　三三12～17 以扫建议大家一起上路，雅各就推搪说自己的孩子年幼，牲畜又在乳养的时候，步伐缓慢，一起上路不好。他答应在西珥（以东）跟以扫汇合；但其实他并无此意。以扫提出留下几个跟随他的人在雅各家里，雅各还是拒绝了，并没有说明真正的原委——恐惧与猜疑。

　　三三18～20 雅各本应向南行往西珥山去，他却往西北面前进。最终到达示剑城，安顿下来，在那里筑了一座坛，起名（也许是莽称）叫伊利伊罗伊以色列（神，以色列的神的意思）。直到他们的父亲死了，他们仍住在对方的比邻（三六6-8）。

　　二十年前，神在伯特利向他显现，誓言耶和华是他的神。他献家财的十分之一给神，在伯特利建立神的殿（二八20～22）。现在，他并没有返回伯特利，却在距离伯特利三十英里外土地肥沃的示剑城安顿下来，可能是为牧养牲畜的缘故（示剑代表世界）。神没有直接对他说话，直至数年后，神才呼召雅各实践他的誓约（三十五章）。这时候，第三十四章有悲剧的事发生。

Genesis 33 Jacob Meets Esau 1Then Jacob lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, (A)Esau was coming, and four hundred men with him. So he divided the children among Leah and Rachel and the two maids. 2He put the maids and their children in front, and Leah and her children next, and Rachel and Joseph last. 3But he himself passed on ahead of them and (B)bowed down to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother. 4Then Esau ran to meet him and embraced him, and (C)fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept. 5He lifted his eyes and saw the women and the children, and said, "Who are these with you?" So he said, "(D)The children whom God has graciously given your servant." 6Then the maids came near with their children, and they bowed down. 7Leah likewise came near with her children, and they bowed down; and afterward Joseph came near with Rachel, and they bowed down. 8And he said, "What do you mean by (E)all this company which I have met?" And he said, "(F)To find favor in the sight of my lord." 9But Esau said, "(G)I have plenty, my brother; let what you have be your own." 10Jacob said, "No, please, if now I have found favor in your sight, then take my present from my hand, for I see your face as one sees the face of God, and you have received me favorably. 11"Please take my (H)gift which has been brought to you, (I)because God has dealt graciously with me and because I have plenty." Thus he urged him and he took it. 12Then Esau said, "Let us take our journey and go, and I will go before you." 13But he said to him, "My lord knows that the children are frail and that the flocks and herds which are nursing are a care to me. And if they are driven hard one day, all the flocks will die. 14"Please let my lord pass on before his servant, and I will proceed at my leisure, according to the pace of the cattle that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord at (J)Seir." 15Esau said, "Please let me leave with you some of the people who are with me." But he said, "[a]What need is there? (K)Let me find favor in the sight of my lord." 16So Esau returned that day on his way to Seir. 17Jacob journeyed to (L)Succoth, and built for himself a house and made booths for his livestock; therefore the place is named Succoth. Jacob Settles in Shechem 18Now Jacob came safely to the city of (M)Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from (N)Paddan-aram, and camped before the city. 19(O)He bought the piece of land where he had pitched his tent from the hand of the sons of Hamor, Shechem's father, for one hundred pieces of money. 20Then he erected there an altar and called it [c]El-Elohe-Israel.
