Announcer: Well, Bob, that was a critical call on fourth down.
Bob: That's the worst call I've ever seen. You can't win championships with coaching like that. I'd like to tell him a thing or two about football.
Announcer: How many championships have you won, Bob?
Bob: Well...uhh...my teams never made it to the playoffs. But you can bet if we had....
Woodrow Kroll: It sure is easy to be an armchair quarterback, isn't it? Everybody thinks they know better than the coach on the field. Yet, who would really wants to take football advice from a coach who had never had a winning team? Having strong opinions is not the same as knowing what you're talking about.
The same is true in life. Should we take counsel from those who can't seem to get their own lives in order? Why would we take advice from people who are on a path of self‑destruction? In Psalm 16:7 [NKJV] David says; "I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel." David knew the only counsel he could fully trust came from God. God wants to lead us and guide us if we will simply listen and follow Him.
Why not read your Bible today and see what God is saying to you. His counsel can always be trusted. And it can always be found in His Word. The Bible. Read it for answers. Read it for life. |
