Woodrow Kroll: I'm Woodrow Kroll and this is the Bible Minute.
Experience is an effective but sometimes painful teacher. C. S. Lewis, the great British author, wrote two books on pain and suffering. One looked at pain from an intellectual view. Then he suffered the death of his wife, Joy, and wrote another book from the view of experience. It wasn't that his first book was untrue, it's just that his first book came from his head and his second came from his heart.
In Psalm 13:1 [NKJV] David writes from his heart: "How long, O LORD, will you forget me forever?" In times of suffering it may seem like God is far off and doesn't even care. That's when we need to pour out our hearts as the Psalmist did. And then, like David, we wait quietly for the still, small voice that meets us in our pain and walks us through to the other side.
You may be new in your faith and feel you need some additional help. You may want to know how to deepen your relationship with God.
Well, I think I can help you. Let me send you my booklet Ten First Steps for the New Christian. You can have it free if you give us a call. Again, it's Ten First Steps for the New Christian. Let your heart rejoice in God's salvation.
