Man 1: So what if it's not exactly legal. I'm getting rich and that's all that matters.
Man 2: You're not afraid of getting caught?
Man 1: Caught? By whom? God?
Woodrow Kroll: Sounds pretty blasphemous, doesn't it? But that's the way some people act. They don't think anyone, including God, can catch them when they do wrong.
Psalm 10:4 has an interesting description of those who act wickedly. It says, "The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts." A truly wicked person believes he can get away with anything. No one is going to catch him.
But he's wrong. In the very next Psalm, 11:5 David writes, "But the wicked and the one who loves violence [God's] soul hates. Upon the wicked He will rain coals, fire and brimstone and a burning wind; This shall be the portion of their cup."
No one will get by living wickedly. There's always a price to pay. It may even cost your life. But if you read God's Word, you'll find life everlasting. It comes to those who live God's way. The Bible. Read it for answers. Read it for life. |
