Woodrow Kroll: I'm Woodrow Kroll and this is the Bible Minute. Many of you are familiar with a wildlife refuge. It's a protected area where animals find shelter from things that could harm them.
Did you know you and I have a protected area—a refuge where we can find safety from harm? Actually it's not a place but a person. Psalm 9:9 says, "The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble."
When life becomes more than we can bear, God provides a way of escape. When people take aim at us, He provides a place of safety. God becomes our refuge and in His arms we can safely rest.
Now, if you don't know God and haven't placed your faith in Him, then you won't be under His protective care. That refuge won't be available.
What you need to do is to trust Him. Tell Him you believe that He loves you and that He sent His Son to die for you. If you trust Jesus as your Savior, I'd like to help you grow in your faith.
Give me a call and I'll send you my booklet entitled, Ten First Steps for the New Christian. It's free and it will help you develop your faith in Christ. Discover God's abiding refuge as you learn to trust Him.
