Sand and Stone The story goes that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: "Today my best friend slapped me in the face." They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "Today my best friend saved my life." The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now you write on a stone. Why?" The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it." LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE. They say it takes a minute to find a special person an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but an entire life to forget them. Send this phrase to the people you'll never forget. It's a short message to let them know that you'll never forget them. Take the time to live.

石头与沙石头与沙阿拉伯名作家阿里，有一次和吉伯、马沙两位朋友一起旅行。三人行经一处山谷时，马沙失足滑落，幸而吉伯拚命拉他，才将他救起。马沙于是在附近的大石头上刻下了：「某年某月某日，吉伯救了马沙一命。」三人继续走了几天，来到一处海边，吉伯跟马沙为了一件小事吵起来，吉伯一气之下打了马沙一耳光。马沙跑到沙滩上写下：某年某月某日，吉伯打了马沙一耳光。」当他们旅游回来之后，阿里好奇地问马沙为什要把吉伯救他的事刻在石上，而将吉伯打他的事写在沙上？马沙回答：「我永远都感激吉伯救我，至于他打我的事，我会随著沙滩上字迹的消失，而忘得一乾二净。」记住别人对我们的恩惠，洗去我们对别人的怨恨，在人生的旅程中才能自由翱翔。最好的朋友就像如此。人总是期盼听到甜言蜜语，来自情人，朋友甚至最亲近的家人。但从不给予批评的，不是益友。人生的顺境不能增智慧，经历挫折不一定能使人成功，但成功的人一定曾经历挫折。

呵呵，不敢，我只是对英文稍有兴趣而已，也只是个一知半解。只是看完全文后觉得意思有点不一样，所以才说了这些话，不好意思，给您添麻烦了。。
