Dan: Hey, Bill, I didn't see you at work Friday.
Bill: (Outraged) I got fired!
Dan: Fired?
Bill: Yeah, can you believe it! I guess this is what Jesus meant by suffering for righteousness sake.
Dan: What do you mean?
Bill: The boss called me in and said he wanted me to spend more time working and less time passing out tracts and antagonizing the help. He said he was paying me to work not to preach.
Dan: And
Bill: He caught me holding up the assembly line because I was arguing religion with the workers... so he fired me. Can you believe it?
Woodrow Kroll: God expects us to be responsible workers. In 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 Paul states, "Aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands... that you may walk properly toward those who are outsiders." We are called to witness for Christ at work but we simply cannot be a good witness if we're a bad worker. Good work will translate into good witness. Be wise in your witness and honest in your work.
