Pastor: (Sleepy) Hello
Caller: I'm sorry to bother you so late pastor, I know I shouldn't call but I just had to talk to somebody...
Pastor: That's all right, you did the right thing. Tell me what's going on.
Woodrow Kroll: They come in all shapes and sizes, some tall—some short, some slender—some not so slender, but there's one thing they all have in common. They love the Lord and they love you too. I'm talking about pastors—your pastor. With few exceptions, they are on call 24 hours a day, no matter what the situation. It's a wonder anyone would choose such a vocation. I guess it's because it's not a vocation, it's a calling, and the voice that's calling belongs to God.
Listen to what the Bible says about these "shepherds of the flock." 1 Timothy 5:17: "Let the elders—or pastors—who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine." Your pastor is a friend who is always there. Get to know him better by getting to know your Bible better. |
