Wife: Honey, who was that at the door?
Husband: It was our neighbor, Bob, he said they've spotted a twister outside town and it's coming our way.
Wife: Hey, look, poor old Mrs. Rogers is out in her yard. She must not know about the twister. I'm going to warn her.
Husband: No you're not. We're safe and that's all that matters. We must get down to the basement now. Mrs. Rogers is on her own.
Wife: But can't we warn her like Bob did us?
Husband: No sir, we're safe and that's all that matters.
Woodrow Kroll: Are we ever guilty of acting like this man, knowing, as believers, that we're safe from hell but not willing to warn others just because they are of the world? Paul states in 1 Corinthians 5:9-10, "I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world…since then you would need to go out of the world."
We must not disassociate ourselves from those around us who need to hear the good news of Jesus. We must never be so selfish as to think that once we are saved nobody else matters. We have been told the Good News of Jesus and we must tell others. Why not read it for yourself in the Bible. Once you've read all about it, go tell someone else. |
