Child: Hey, grandpa, can we go to the ice-cream store?
Grandpa: Sure, honey, we can do that. I don't know where your mom and grandma are any way.
Child: Maybe they're at the ice-cream store.
Grandpa: I don't think so but let's go look. If we don't find them, they'll know where to find us.
Woodrow Kroll: Grandparents are an interesting phenomena, aren't they?! They have a special place no one else can take.
Have you ever considered the importance of godly grandparents, people who love the Lord, who read and believe the Bible, who pray for their children and grandchildren?
In 2 Timothy 1:5 the apostle Paul wrote to a young man named Timothy. He said, "I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and
(then in) your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also."
Grandma and grandpa, your prayers can lead to the salvation of your grandchildren. What more important role could you ever play? The next time you're with one of your grandchildren, why not sit down and read the Bible with them. It could change their lives. |
