Voice: I hate you. I hate my job. I hate my life. I hate everything.
Woodrow Kroll: Did you ever wonder what makes some people so angry. Do they perpetually wake up on the wrong side of the bed?
There's no question their anger is real. But what made them so angry? Usually the answer is ...themselves. You see, deep down inside they know they don't measure up, none of us do. They don't meet their own expectations and that boils deep within them until it spills out as anger toward others.
The apostle Paul may have been getting at this in Romans 7:18 when he said, "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells." Anger is the consequence of sin and it's part of the "nothing good" we find deep inside of us. What's the cure? A changed life through Jesus Christ.
You may be angry today. Why not read God's Word to discover a peace that passes all understanding, a peace that comes through believing in Jesus. If you're angry and don't know Jesus, you need to trust Him as Savior and turn your anger over to Him. |
