Woman: You know, sometimes I just don't understand it. I've prayed and trusted God but things just go from bad to worse. Sometimes I find myself doubting if God even cares anymore.
Woodrow Kroll: Ever feel this way? We hate to admit it. But the truth is that most of us at some time in our lives find ourselves wondering if God really cares. In times of rational thought, when life is on the level, we know God cares.
But sometimes, when circumstances are confusing, we feel a sense of doubt about God's love. The disciples felt this, even when Jesus was with them. Listen to what they said when they were caught on the Sea of Galilee in a life-threatening storm: "But He [Jesus] was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, 'Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?'"
Those words remind us how quickly doubt creeps in when life isn't going our way. Jesus reminded His disciples that their doubt came from a lack of faith.
If you want to be a person of faith, fill your mind with God's truth. You can remove your doubt by getting to know God better. And you can do that by reading His Word daily. |
