Voice 1: It's an ambush, boys!
Voice 2: They've got us surrounded!
Voice 1: Better ride out of here fast!
Woodrow Kroll: Do you remember watching old westerns like that? The good guys were ambushed and had to fight their way out. It wasn't very realistic.
Unfortunately, in real life, people get ambushed too. Someone lies about their character or gossips about things that would be better left unsaid. Those verbal assaults often lead to feelings of bitterness or devastation.
King David in the Bible found himself under attack on a number of occasions. But he understood how to handle the slings and arrows of those who rose up against him. In Psalm 64 [8] he simply states that God will fight his battles. "So He [God] will make them stumble over their own tongue; all who see them shall flee away."
When it comes to handling life's ambushes, turn to the Bible, not to bitterness. Read Psalm 64. Find security in the One who stands with you and fights for you. Read your Bible today. |
