Woodrow Kroll: I'm Woodrow Kroll with today's Bible Minute. Some time ago I was a guest on a radio talk show and this is what the caller had to say: "I don't know what to do. My family's turned away from me. I've lost all my money. I wish I'd never been born." Woodrow Kroll: For some of us, it's hard to imagine becoming that depressed, but many of you know all too well those feelings of overwhelming sadness. Perhaps you're thinking of suicide right now. The Bible tells of a man named Job who felt that same way. Job lost everything important to him in one day. His children were killed and he was stricken with a painful disease. Job lamented, "May the day perish on which I was born, and the night in which it was said, 'A male child is conceived'" [Job 3:3]. But Job found hope in his relationship with God. Even though things didn't immediately get better, Job ultimately was able to say, "He knows the way that I take; when He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold" [Job 23:10]. Do you need help coming forth as gold? Here's the place to start. Begin by reading your Bible. You'll discover others, like Job, who've gone through difficult times too. God stuck with them and He'll stick with you.
