God: Adam, where are you?
Adam: Oh no! Here He comes again. We've got to get out of here and fast.
Woodrow Kroll: Genesis chapter 2 records the creation of Adam and Eve. God created Adam and Eve to enjoy a relationship with Him and it was all so beautiful... until Adam and Eve choose to disobey God and sin entered the picture. Sin brings shame and shame causes us to hide from a holy God.
Listen to Adam's words after he sinned, as recorded in Genesis 3, verse 10: "I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself."
Some people today deal with shame by trying to convince themselves there’s nothing to be ashamed of. This only leads to more shame. The Bible says that Jesus took our shame upon Himself when He died on Calvary’s cross in payment for our sin.
Take time to read your Bible today and you'll realize that, while shame separates us from God, we can be reconciled with Him through Jesus Christ our Savior. The Bible has answers for you. Stop running from God and enter into a relationship with Him. |
