Sadness

[B]Woodrow Kroll:[/B] I'm Woodrow Kroll and this is the Bible Minute. It hurts deeply when we lose someone we care about. After his young wife died, Sheldon Vanauken wrote in his book, A Severe Mercy, "How could things go on when the world has come to an end? How could things—how could I—go on in this void? How could one person, not very big, leave an emptiness that was galaxy-wide?" Jesus felt that same sadness as He stood before the tomb of His friend, Lazarus. In fact, John 11:35, the shortest verse in the Bible, says, "Jesus wept." Life is filled with sad "good-byes." But there is hope. The Bible is a book of hope. God raised Lazarus from the dead. Revelation 7:17 says that in heaven, "God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." Heaven is a place where there are no more good-byes. Take heart and read about hope for yourself in God's Word. All who know Jesus Christ as Savior live with the greatest hope in the world. That hope can be yours too. The Bible tells you how to obtain it. Read the Book of Romans and you'll discover lasting hope.
