SFX: Wind blowing
Woodrow Kroll: How high are clouds? Depends upon the season, weather and type of day. Typically, clouds are several thousand feet up and sometimes tens of thousands. With that observation, let's take a moment for today's Bible Minute. I'm Woodrow Kroll.
We're focusing on God's faithfulness. Psalm 36:5 says, "Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds." In this world people often make promises to be faithful. About every wedding I've attended includes the line "Till death do us part." Yet divorce is at an all-time high. We can't seem to commit to a lasting faithfulness. But God can. He promised His faithfulness forever. As far as the earth is from the sky is the length of His faithfulness to us.
Now that doesn't mean we can do whatever we like, even do wrong things, and God will bless. No, what it means is that in every situation He will be there. If we sin, God is faithful to remind us of our sin and to help us live the way He desires. If we face difficult situations, He is faithful to comfort and lead us in a path of peace. Listen. God is no "fair-weather friend." You can trust Him.
