Woodrow Kroll: I'm Woodrow Kroll and this is the Bible Minute. Have you ever noticed how protective parents can be?
SFX: children fighting
Parent: (stern) Okay, what's going on here?
Sally: Mom, those boys took my books!
Parent: (continued stern) Is that right, guys?
Boys: Ohhh…who wants your stupid books, anyway!
Mom: Apparently, you did, Bryan. And boy are you in trouble now!
Woodrow Kroll: Every parent naturally comes to the rescue of his or her child. That's why Judges chapter 19 is so disturbing. A man was entertaining a guest when a homosexual mob demanded the guest be handed over to them for sex. The man refused instead offering his virgin daughter.
Listen to Judges 19:24 "Look, here is my virgin daughter and the man's concubine… Humble them, and do with them as you please." One can only imagine the terror these girls felt. Here was a father whose thinking is a bit screwy. He so hated the sin of homosexuality that he willingly offered his daughter to the mob for sex. As a dad myself, I can't understand it. But that's what happens when man defines his own morality. Two wrongs did not make a right.
To get a full picture of what life is like without God and to see where we might be heading as a nation, read Judges 19. Use the Bible to set your moral compass. Your children will be glad you did!
